First Day at University | Making friends in Germany.

Have you ever had a thought or nervousness before going to any new place?
I had. Not every time, but some times.
There are three kind of people; Extrovert, Introvert and Scared. The Extroverts are not scared of meeting new people, but sometimes they also feel nervous, before meeting someone. Introverts don't really care. They have a tiny area of contacts and they are happy with it. The third type is Scared people. Most of the people fall in this category. They(Sometimes me also) want to meet new people, they want to be friends with them, or at least talk to them. But they can't, because of their inner fear. They know this, and try to overcome this, some succeed, some don't. Then they try to be happy with whatever they have and call themselves Introvert. But they are not, they are just hiding themselves behind that tag...

"Hi!! I am Adit from India. And you?"
"Sorry, Emm. I didn't get your name?"
"Aaadeet."
"Oh! Ok, Aadee. Nice to meet you. I am --, and I am from--"
"Nice to meet you too."
"What are you studying here?"
And so on...

I had this above conversation for more than 20 times in 4 hours. On that day, I was not shy, because I decided that I will try to talk with maximum number of my fellow students and will put aside all my insecurities before going there.I was meeting so many new people on my first day at my University. It is not different from our first day at new school or new coaching classes or any other beginning; except, all the people do not speak the language which you are speaking the most or comfortable with, they are from different places and because of that you feel distant from them and vice versa. Cultures, Language, Dialect, Gesture, Manners are different. Ok,yeah, it is different in some manners. Harder then local University or any new place.
But, as one of my favorite song(now a days; because the list keeps changing) says, "Kahin toh yeh dil kabhi mil nahin paate, Kahin pe nikal aaye janamo ke naate "
(Song: Kahin door jab din dhal jaye, Movie: Anand,1971, Singer: Mukesh, Lyricist: Yogesh)
Meaning: Sometimes, you don't feel like you are getting along with someone; And with right people, it feels like you know them for years or centuries(!!).

Yeah I know it's a bit filmy but sometimes, you just talk to someone and you feel like he/she is your best friend for years. Not getting me? Ok. Recall how you became friend with your best friend; what happened when you people met for the first time. At the other hand, with some people you have only relations for "Hi" & "Bye".And you forget most of the people with whom you just had an  introduction. This last line only applies for extrovert people because introverts introduce themselves with limited people and that's why they don't forget them. I can be both, depending upon my mood, like sometimes I really don't care about meeting new people and just enjoy my self as Introverts do I am always accompanied by my best friend and that is ME and sometimes I go out there and make new friends. Situation and Mood; you know.
On that day, my extrovert mode was on. :)

Coming back to first day, it was September,2018 and the welcome week for international students was going on. I was introducing myself to new people, and getting introduced about new culture, talking style, language and manners.Really great fun.
As I said, I met many new people; some I don't remember, with some people I only have waving relations; few became friends. Then I saw these four guys entering together as a group. At first, I thought nice, all of them are very friendly because till then, I only met people who were alone and didn't know anyone in that auditorium, like me, so I thought great!! These people have already made a group. And I introduced myself to them after a while. As it turned out, they didn't meet there, they already knew each other, even they were living together. lol. But from that introduction, we became nice friends. They are Praveen, Parth, Shahnawaz and Mubashir. I got mixed with them. They all are studying Computers and I am a Civil guy, we have different schedule. But then, who cares. Afterwards, I got introduced to other wonderful people from Computer Science through them. We had some great trips all together like Vaals, Maastricht, Monschau, Bonn and the wonderful one to Amsterdam.

So, there are many people out there who are scared to go to any new places(like parties, get-to-gathers, or skipping first days of schools or colleges), just because they think that they will become alone in the crowd. Specially those scared ones. Because they have their fear to cherish while sitting in the home. But, there is one Gujarati proverb which states: "Bhut ne Piplo madi j jay". It roughly says that everybody find what they need. Nobody has to worry about finding right friends, just try; and be yourself, that's it. It doesn't matter whether you are in new school, college or even in a new country.
