Abroad Study | Germany | Part 0
Hello Guys,
As many of you requested, I am writing an overview about getting here in Germany. How you should proceed and what are the requirements.
First things first, when you decide to study abroad, you first have to decide what you want to do after studies? Do you want to settle in that country? Do you want to just complete you study and come back to your home? Or do you want to get some experience after completing your studies and then go back to your country? Of course, this decision can be changed afterwards, but if you are well aware from beginning, it will be easy for you to decide in which country you want to go and how much efforts you want to put in. For me, I decided to complete my studies and work for 2-3 years at max, and then come back to India. Just for exposure.
Now, let's talk about Germany. Fine country, many scopes and good chances for getting permanent residence. The biggest advantage is, free education. One of the main reasons why I chose Germany over others. Because I was clear that I don't want to settle, so there was no point of me to invest around 40-50 lakh(4-5 million) rupees in two years. To get returns from that amount, I might have to spend more time abroad. So not convenient for me. Investments and returns. Simple Gujju mathematics. The second main reason is, the quality of education here is really good. In Germany, education in government funded college is of high quality and free. You just have to pay 200-300 Euros, per semester as your semester contribution fees. Which includes your free ticket for public transportation, and other contribution to student services like working student committee, housing, canteen etc.
Now, for universities, you can look at daad.de this is really helpful website. You can use the filters depending upon your preferences like: area of study, language of teaching, semester, universities without fees etc. It will also redirect you to the university website and has also described the living expense in that city. So good.
Now, for application, you need degree certificate, or if you are in final year, then an evidence to prove that you will finish your studies, by the commencement of semester here. Along with that, you need Letter of Recommendation from your institution, A Statement of Purpose and language certificate i.e. IELTS, TOEFL or German language proof only if you are applying to German taught programs. Some courses also require GATE clearance for Master's in Engineering and Experience as well. GRE can be mandatory too.
Once you are ready, you can apply through Uniassist or directly to university portal, depending upon university. Then you have to send attested photocopy of documents to uniassist.
After you get the acceptance, you need to apply for the visa. If you have unconditional admission letter(direct admission) for higher studies in English, then you don't have to go to the Consulate, you can apply through vfs(a visa procedure agency appointed by German government) and just submit the documents there.
Coming back to me, as you might know, I am currently studying in RWTH, Masters in Advanced Computational Methods in Civil Engineering(2nd Semester). I have been here in Germany for six months. I didn't have any consultancy for my application, I did it by myself. I completed my B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, in 2017 from PDPU, Gandhinagar. I did my IELTS there in Gandhinagar only. I had the unconditional admission letter, so I had my visa process with vfs,Mumbai. I learned German till A1, before coming here from Nishit Sir Alodariya in Rajkot. One of the finest in Rajkot. I wasn't going for German taught program, but still if you are coming to Germany, you should learn basic German(A1). This will be helpful for you to interact with people and to get part time jobs.
This is only a short information as I only know this much. That's it for today. As I did in previous blog, I will write tips in every blog at the end.
If you have any questions, you can ask me in comments. Please ask here, because someone else can also have that question, and it will be helpful for them as well. I might not be able to answer all the questions but I will try.
Jai Shree Krishna.
Hi bro, What is the scope of a student who had completed Masters in India , and wish to study further course if any? and what are the scope of job ? Is getting a PR feasible or should come back after 2 to 3 years like u?
ReplyDeleteIf you want to study further, you can do Ph.D. You can get job after completion of your studies. Ease of getting a job totally depends upon your profile and field of study. About PR, it's your call, totally depends upon your prospective and what you want to do in future.
